The Stars

there they are
the stars
right where we left them
last night
scattered in rows
waiting for the sun
to fuel their light
tiny 'glow-in-the-dark' toys
we take out of our pocket at night
and every once in a while
one of them streaks across the sky
almost... showing off
before the sun bends over, to pick it up.
